Tribe Of Judah - Nice Debut From Band Fronted By Former Vocalist For Extreme And Van Halen Jun 02, 2008 Tribe Of Judah is led by former Extreme and Van Halen vocalist Gary Cherone and his brother Markus Cherone. Also appearing is Cherone's former Extreme band mate Pat Badger on bass. Cherone still has a great voice and this is a good album of modern heavy rock that sometimes leans in an industrial direction as well. Cherone has always written thoughtful expressive lyrics and they are in abundance here. The band is also very good with some fiery guitar to be found in several spots. My favorite track on the album is the title track "Exit Elvis" that closes the album. It is similar to some of Cherone's more progressive work on the "3 Sides To Every Story" album and is a great way to close this one out. Overall this album is not going to set the world on fire, but it is a very nice effort. To my knowledge this is the only album that the Tribe ever released.
Classic Cherone Jan 15, 2008 Cherone is great at adding some great thought and perspective in his lyrics. This is no differnet. Some industrial sounding stuff which is different. A great CD to have to listen to something different. Not every song is solid, but most of it is very good. Good stuff.
Great album. Underrated. Jun 18, 2006 Gary is still looking for a niche. Just when he finds a great thing, then he changes. If your were an Extreme of Van Halen fan, then you may enjoy this CD.
This CD stayed in my CD player for 2 months straight.
Tribe Of Judah ~ Exit Elvis Feb 26, 2006 Gary Cherone's vocal ability and talent shines through on this album. Very much industrial sounding as well a hard rock fused
with rock opera. If your a fan of his former band Extreme as well as the much underated Van Halen 3, you will enjoy this record.
One of rocks best singers. Nov 07, 2005 First off, Gary Cherone is one of the best singers in rock that deserves 1,000 times the respect he has gotten.
Secondly, this record shows the diversity of his musical taste. This is not an Extreme album and it is not a Van Halen album, but it is a fantastic record. Fans of David Bowie's "Earthling" record will also love this record.
Unfortunately, this record did not get the exposure that it deserved. It should have gotten a but load of support from the record label because I really think this record could have done really well.
This is a really great record and you should own it.
