Subdudes Rule Aug 10, 2008 This may be my favorite Subdudes album, a good choice if you are just beginning to listen to them. This covers the spectrum of their broad repertoire of sounds. Beware, buy one album, you will eventually buy them all. The sounds and messages of this band are what we need in our hurry up depersonalized lives. These guys have taken over my families ipod and car stereos and we are all happy about it.

no more room in my car cd player Sep 20, 2007 I have just recently discovered the "dudes" and I just can't believe what I have been missing all these years. Its like mixing Lyle Lovett, The Eagles, Stevie Winwood, the Bonnie Rait Band,The Band and just about every favorite R & B ,country rock, and soul great that I have ever known. The lyrics are terrific, the vocals superb, the musicianship incredible. I now have all of their albums. I am so glad that they are back together and touring...I plan on seeing them in Chicago at the House of Blues. You know how you fast-forward on most albums to get to your favorites...well I have yet to fast-forward through any of their albums. What an awesome collection the boys from Denver, with the New Orleans flavor have given us. I would suggest you buy them all....you will not be disappointed and your friends will be glad you that you passed the word on to them. This is music like it is supposed to be enjoyed....be ready to tap your feet, have the little hairs on the back of your neck stand up..and maybe even share a little tear of joy having found the SubDudes.

Great to Listen to. Tough to Classify Apr 13, 2007 Heard "All the Time in the World" on the radio. Loved it. Bought the album and was really impressed. This band has so many sounds. It is probably the most passed around CD in my collection. Everybody I have shared this CD with has enjoyed the Subdueds unique sound.

American Music at its Best Nov 07, 2003 In the great American Tradition of The Band, The Eagles, John Hiatt, the Bodeans and the Jayhawks, the Subdudes bring their own unique blend of zydeco/country/blues sound. I defy anyone who has this album to play the opening track just once. "All the Time in the World" is more addicting than a can of Pringles(tm). The rest of the album just gets better and better. It leaves one wondering just when this band will receive the recognition it deserves.

Best CD from excellent Southern R&B/zydeco group May 26, 2001 The Subdudes always have a great rythmic texture; my personal preferences always lie with uptempo cuts -- and that's just what you get on this exceptional CD. Most CDs, there are 2 to 4 great cuts, the rest is just background music, but Primitive Streak has 10 or 11 cuts that you just want to play again and again. You keep hearing new subtleties every time. As with other great Southern R&B vocalists/groups -- for instance, Aaron Neville or Little Feat -- Subdudes vocalists are unhurried and very much at ease . I had an opportunity to be a DJ recently, played 4 cuts from this CD, and could have done many more. Don't miss Bonnie Raitt's guitar and vocals on "Too soon to tell."
